Anita Heiss

Dr Anita Heiss is an author, poet and satirist - she has written 16 books including her memoir ‘Am I Black Enough for You?’.

She is a Lifetime Ambassador of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and currently divides her time between writing, public speaking, MCing, managing the Epic Good Foundation and being a 'creative disruptor'.

In this episode we unpack Anita’s creative writing process, how she has dealt with criticism, and why we need to encourage Indigenous communities to continue to share their stories across Australia - in fact why all of our children need to have a platform to share their stories.

Anita reminds us that words are powerful and we get a choice about which ones we use.
